Diversity and Outreach

Program Overview

Achieving diversity among faculty, students, and staff at Georgia Tech is important to ensure a thriving academic community where different perspectives are valued and respected. The College of Engineering’s Diversity and Engineering Education Outreach office is a key component of that effort to help guarantee that Georgia Tech remains a national leader in producing a diverse population of engineers. This strives to maintain Georgia Tech’s reputation as a diversity leader by being a hub of information for prospective students, current students, industry, and the community at large as well as collaborates with internal and external constituencies to create and support a diversified engineering pipeline.

The College of Engineering’s Diversity and Engineering Education Outreach office has two thrust areas: Pre-Collegiate Development and Academic Diversity.

Goals

  • To cultivate a diverse pipeline by increasing engineering awareness in the K-12 arena and exposing students to real world hands-on engineering experiences
  • To innovatively attract, empower, and retain undergraduate and graduate diverse talent in engineering.
