Starting Fall 2012, WIE is excited to announce the launch of a new program aiming to provide peer mentoring for incoming graduate female students in the College of Engineering. The mentoring pairing will be done by inviting all prospective mentors and mentees to a Kick-off luncheon on Tuesday, September 18from 11:00AM – 1:00PM in Klaus 1116 W&E.
In addition to the Kick-off, we will have 2 other meetings for grad students for the year:
These meetings are open to all grad female students, whether or not they form a mentoring pair. We will have food at all meetings, and will discuss specific topics of interest to grad students, such as, “Top 5 mistakes for grad students,” “How to deal with your advisor,” etc. The topics will be emailed to all students ahead of time.
If you’re interested in being a mentor, please sign up here by Tuesday, September 4. After the sign-up deadline, we will post the mentor profiles on a secure webpage to be shared only with new female graduate students so they can see who they’d like to meet at the Kick-off.
For new graduate students interested in being a mentee, please plan to come to the Sept 18th Kick-off Luncheon. For more information, contact wie-office@coe.gatech.edu
