K-12 Outreach

K-12 Programs Offered by Women in Engineering

Engineers have a unique opportunity to make our world a better place!  They solve problems in creative ways and create things that never existed before.  The U.S. is in need of more engineers to remain competitive globally as well as in need of more diverse engineering teams to create the best solutions possible.  In order to increase the number of young students who consider engineering as a career path, it's critical to expose students to engineering as early as possible.

For this reason, WIE offers a variety of K-12 outreach programs designed to teach girls about engineering, give them the opportunity to engage in hands-on engineering activities, and meet GT female engineering students, faculty and alumni so that they have role models they can identify with.  The goal of our outreach programs is to inspire girls to pursue careers in engineering.
