The global economy is making national and other types of boundaries less relevant every day. Georgia Tech has taken full advantage of this trend by extending its "campus" far beyond the borders of the main Atlanta location to encompass learning and research platforms as close as southeast Georgia and as far as Europe and Asia.
The highly innovative Georgia Tech Lorraine (GTL) campus offers programs where students can completely fulfill degree requirements toward the Master of Science degree in the areas of electrical and computer engineering as well as mechanical engineering and they can partially fulfill requirements for the Ph.D. degree. The Georgia Tech Lorraine Undergraduate Engineering Program offers undergraduates a chance to study computer science, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering. Just 80 minutes by train from Paris in Metz, France, GTL has been in existence since 1991.
