Stats & Rankings: Women

Georgia Tech continues to lead the charge in increasing the participation of women in engineering nationwide.  In the College of Engineering, 24% of the students are women, versus 18.1% nationally.

In the freshman class of 2011, 50% of the Biomedical Engineering majors are women, 45% of the Chemical Engineering majors are women, and 40% of the Industrial and Systems Engineering majors are women.  Overall, Georgia Tech produces more female engineers than any other school in the nation.

As of Fall 2011, Tech's College of Engineering included the following breakdown of female engineering students:

  • 565 Freshmen
  • 514 Sophomores
  • 436 Juniors
  • 574 Seniors
  • 350 Masters
