Among the items discussed were Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), led by Georgia Tech Engineering Dean Gary May, and the NAE Grand Challenges. The group heard presentations on non-tenure track faculty policies, an overview of the NC State ERC on Advanced Self-Powering Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technology and the ERC on the Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management. NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson also visited with the group to speak on the state support for higher education and increasing college costs.
