The Georgia Engineers Week is a cooperative effort of the professional engineering organizations in the State of Georgia, and is coordinated through the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers. This week is dedicated to the annual Engineers Week programs in the State of Georgia and additional programs across the Nation. These programs are designed to promote the engineering disciplines to students, help expand public recognition of the engineering profession and celebrate engineering accomplishments.

The GSPE and the Engineers Week Planning Committee will host the Annual Engineers Week Awards Gala on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta, during which Forest will receive his award.

Forest joined the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in August 2008.  Forest heads the Precision Biosystems Laboratory which is focused on the creation and application of miniaturized, high-throughput, biological instrumentation to advance genetic science.
