Prior to this assignment at Boeing, Schneider was Vice President of Product Development, where he led the design of new and derivative airplanes. He also managed the overall Research and Development and Internal Application Development plans across Commercial Airlines and supported the Product Strategy and Advanced Technology organization within Commercial Airplanes and in Phantom Works.

Previously, Schneider was deputy chief project engineer for 787 Derivatives. Schneider was responsible for assuring the technical integrity and quality of engineering design, certification and safety for all 787 derivatives. He led configuration development and was responsible for technical performance of the derivative airplanes.

Prior to that assignment, Schneider led the 787-8 Wing, Empennage and Landing Gear engineering group, responsible for design, certification, performance and global supplier coordination.

In addition, Schneider has held various leadership roles including PD Chief for the 7E7 / Sonic Cruiser airplane and deputy chief engineer for the 747/767 Product Development Team.

Schneider worked at McDonnell Douglas Corp. and Grumman Aerospace prior to his assignments within Boeing.

Schneider is a member of both the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
