Tech Tower

This honor highlights a Georgia Tech professor at each home football game, placing their picture on the scoreboard while information on their research is read to the crowd. In addition, a donation in the professor’s name is made to her or his home college.

Egerstedt was honored at the game against Alabama A&M. He is the Schlumberger Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he serves as associate chair for research and external affairs. His research centers on control theory and robotics, with a focus on control and coordination of complex networks such as multi-robot systems, mobile sensor networks and cyber-physical systems.

He leads the Georgia Robotics and Intelligent Systems Laboratory, where he advises 12 graduate students. In 2012 Egerstedt was elected an IEEE Fellow, and he has also been a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award and the ECE Outstanding Junior Faculty Member Award.
