Tech Tower

On April 13, our CEE colleague Belal Elnaggar experienced a random, violent attack in downtown Atlanta, causing severe injuries that have kept him in the hospital ever since.

The talented doctors and nurses at Grady Memorial Hospital saved Belal’s life, but his recovery will be a long one. He has endured more than a dozen surgeries, and he will likely need others in addition to intensive rehabilitation.

Belal’s friends and co-workers in CEE are co-sponsoring a crowd-funding campaign to help with his medical bills.

“We are doing this campaign to raise money for a very deserving person — someone who has left an indelible impression on our office, CEE and the Georgia Tech community,” said Erin Adams, CEE’s Human Resources coordinator. “Belal is someone who gladly pitches in where needed. He is willing to learn, eager to help, and thirsty for knowledge. He has been with us for a little more than a year and in this time he has worked with and built relationships with many people internal and external to CEE.

“His presence is definitely missed,” she said, “and we are sincerely looking forward to his return.”

Learn more about the campaign and make a contribution through the GoFundMe page that has been set up for Belal.
