Mallory Freeman
Ph.D. IE 2014
President, Global Enterprise Data Analytics & GenAI
UPS
Industrial engineering graduate Mallory Freeman leads UPS’s enterprise data, analytics and AI strategies. She drives innovation in generative AI, agentic AI and automation. Over her decade-long career at the company, she has held leadership roles in advanced analytics, technology, pricing science, marketing and finance.
Mallory previously led initiatives through UPS’s AI and machine learning center of excellence, overseeing enterprise business intelligence, data engineering, applied analytics and the development of generative AI solutions.
Beyond her professional work, Mallory serves on advisory boards for the College of Engineering, Virginia Tech’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Neighborhood Nexus. She is also active in Data4Good and AI4Good’s efforts to solve humanitarian challenges with data and AI.
In addition to her Georgia Tech doctoral degree, Mallory earned her bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech and a master’s in operations research from MIT.
David G. Tyler
M.S. AE 2025
Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering
United States Air Force Captain David G. Tyler will graduate this fall. One of his final Georgia Tech projects is conducting research that optimizes the pressure distribution of the UH-60 “Blackhawk” airfoil.
As an officer and pilot, David has a passion for both flying and learning about rotary wing aircraft. He’s currently an instructor on the UH-1N “Huey” and has successfully balanced the demands of being an active duty officer and Georgia Tech student.
David earned his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Military Institute in 2018 and began his master’s degree via distance learning in 2022. Outside of work and school, he enjoys outdoor activities including hunting, skiing, hiking, and trail running.
