The annual publication of university rankings by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy released a new set of rankings for seven different engineering degrees. The new rankings cover the top 20 universities for chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, energy science and engineering, environmental science and engineering, materials science and engineering, and mechanical engineering. Rankings of Shanghai Research were based on global influence, quality and impact, international collaboration, academic awards and research productivity.

The following Georgia Tech engineering programs were recognized in this latest set of world rankings:

Chemical Engineering - #10

Civil Engineering - #7

Electrical Engineering - #5

Materials Science and Engineering - # 9

Mechanical Engineering - #5

Georgia Tech does not offer a degree in energy science and engineering. Universities in the United States dominate the rankings but Chinese, Swiss and United Kingdom institutions are also represented.
