2018 CoE Cares! Committee Guilty Pleasures

The CoE Cares! Committee consists of representatives from each of the eight engineering schools and two co-chairs from the dean's office. In keeping with this month's theme each member was asked to list a few of their guilty pleasures.

Alyssa Barnes
MSE, Communication Officer

TV Shows: 90 Day Fiancé
Food: Butterfingers and Milk Duds
Books: I have to read for at least an hour before I can sleep
 

Vickie Brian
AE, Assistant Director of Administrative Operations

Food: French fries, vegan toffee bars, Lays potato chips- barbecue, sour cream and onion..... yum
Movies: Binge watching Hallmark movies
TV Shows: Crime solving shows such as NCIS, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder, Matlock
Activity: Shopping

Music:Taylor Swift (karaoke-style)
TV shows: Friends
Movies: Cheesy romantic comedies
Books: Anything by Jodi Picoult
Food: Anything salty and crunchy
Activity: Taking naps
 

Shameka Fahie
CEE, Financial Administrator III

TV shows: I swear I only watch two channels….LOL….Food Network and HGTV….I also love The Big Bang Theory. I think that show is hilarious. 
Books: The best book I have read is the Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. This is a book that gives information can be applied to friendship, relationship, work relationship, etc.
Food: I love Mexican and Italian food. I enjoy cooking and trying to new recipes and new restaurants. 
Activity: I enjoy volunteering, mentoring, planning and hosting family and friends, and traveling when I can.

Movies: All the Harry Potter Movies

Music:That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars, I Do (Cherish You) by Mark Wills and My Prerogative by Bobby Brown
Movies: Watching ALL Christmas Movies 24/7 on Hallmark Channel from October – December
Books: Romance novels
Food: Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream with Lays Wavy Potato Chips while watching TV
Activity: Watching videos by myself and mimicking the dances
 

Lynda House
Dean's Office, Director of HR & Administration

Music: 80’s music is the best!  Music from Michael Jackson, Culture Club, Loverboy, Prince, Madonna, and Billy Ocean take me back to high school and college! 
TV shows: Reruns of Murder She Wrote and Investigation Discovery.  Years ago, I enjoyed watching “Unsolved Mysteries” and “In Search Of”.  Still looking for Big Foot! 
Food: Anything that involves both macaroni + cheese.
Activity: clipping coupons – I enjoy the challenge of grocery shopping and saving a little extra. It takes effort and organization but the thrill of getting a bargain is worth it!

Peggy Hughes
ECE, Administrative Professional II

Music: 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s music: Lite rock, blue eyed soul, and R&B.
Movies: I love old movies black and white mysteries, Perry Mason, the Godfather 1&2 only, they were filmed in New York which is where I am from.  
Food: My most practical guilty pleasure is Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich. I would eat this for dinner every day if I could.

Food: Flipz Chocolate Covered Pretzels (I don’t share)

Ben Wright

Music: 90's pop/punk and singing Let It Go from Frozen with my daughter
TV shows: Watching The Bachelor and Bachelorette with my wife. We haven't missed a season
Food: Nachos and Canadian junk food that I miss, like ketchup chips and Crispy Crunch candy bars
Activity: Age of Empires, an old strategy-based computer game. I can get sucked into it for hours on end.
