If you like the way the 2010 Ford Taurus drives, you just may need to thank a Georgia Tech engineer. Cristina Rodriguez graduated from Tech in 1995 with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. She is currently the Vehicle Dynamics Development Engineer for the Ford Motor Company, the only woman at Ford Motor Company to have achieved this status. Rodriguez is responsible for the way the 2010 Ford Taurus feels on the road. Her responsibilities include managing the tradeoffs between ride qualities and handling responsiveness, in addition to steering calibration and “feel.” At Ford for 12 years, she was previously the Lead Suspension Development Engineer on the Taurus and Taurus X vehicle lines. After Rodriquez graduate from Georgia Tech, she went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Michigan and attend the Ford College Graduate Program.
