For the fifth year in a row, the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering’s Beta Mu Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) has been named a recipient of the Outstanding Chapter Award. This award recognizes a chapter's service to their fellow students, school, university, and the surrounding community during 2008-09 and will be formally presented at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association Annual Meeting in March 2009 in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
Eta Kappa Nu is a nonprofit, public-service organization dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in electrical and computer engineering. Comprised of 200 university chapters, members consist of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments.
In the 75 years that the program has been in existence, the number of chapters receiving the Outstanding Chapter Award five years in a row is six. “This is a tremendous achievement for our chapter of HKN, led by Mitch Costley and Rohan Verma, during this time period and their advisor, Regents’ Professor, Tom Gaylord” said Gary May, Electrical and Computer Engineering Chair. “I congratulate all of them on earning this award once again, and for their hard work and dedication to making ECE and Georgia Tech a better place.”
