Tech Tower

COE’s Super Star Buzz has been loaned to the offices of the Dean of Engineering thanks to the generosity of Coe Bloomberg, ME ’66, who purchased COE Super Star Buzz during a silent auction sponsored by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. Bloomberg has served on various Georgia Tech Advisory Boards, including the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience and the Alumni Association.

Buzz Stays on the East Coast

During a recent visit to the campus, Bloomberg visited the Tech mascot which is proudly displayed in the reception area of the College on the 3rd Floor of the Tech Tower. After learning that students visiting the Tower enjoy having their pictures taken with the famous yellow jacket, Bloomberg made the decision to continue the loan of the super star to the College.  This generous decision not to move Buzz to the west coast where Bloomberg resides and works in the law firm of Jones Day in Los Angeles, California, is greatly appreciated by COE Dean Don Giddens.

Collaborative Design

COE’s Buzz graced the cover of the GT Alumni Association Magazine last fall. The proceeds from the silent auction helped fund the college’s diversity outreach programs. COE Buzz was a “collaborative” design effort between the College of Engineering and 20 GT Industrial Design students in the College of Architecture.
