Kenneth Byers Jr., (ECE ‘66, ’68), was recently inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame of Georgia. Byers is the founder and president of Byers Engineering Company which provides technical services and software products to the utilities industry.

Since his graduation, Byers has continued to support Georgia Tech and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) by sponsoring three Byers Professorships and endowing the Kenneth G. Byers, Jr. Eminent Scholar Chair in Optical Networking. He is a trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation and has served as chairman of the ECE advisory board. Byers is also a director of The Alpine Group, Inc., a public manufacturing company, and chairman of eQuorum Corporation, a private software company.

The Technology Hall of Fame of Georgia was established in 1993 to recognize the achievement of members of Georgia’s technology community. Byers received his honor at the Technology Association of Georgia’s annual technology summit in March.
