Tech Tower

Ravi Bellamkonda, a professor in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, has been named an associate vice president within the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research (EVPR) beginning August 1, 2010 for a three-year period.

A Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Scholar, Bellamkonda directs the Neurological Biomaterials and Cancer Therapeutics Laboratory and a National Institutes of Health (NIH) T32 training program in the Rational Design of Biomaterials.

Bellamkonda received his Ph.D. from Brown University and his B.E. from Osmania University College of Engineering. Before coming to Georgia Tech in June 2003, he was on the faculty of Case Western Reserve University. Bellamkonda is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), and is the associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering Journal.
