The Georgia Tech College of Engineering, the nation’s largest, had all of its programs ranked in the top ten in the recently released undergraduate rankings by U.S. News & World Report’s annual publication titled America’s Best Colleges for 2011. The School of Industrial and Systems Engineering continued to hang on to its number one ranking.  Aerospace secured the number two spot as they did last year and Mechanical Engineering moved up one spot to number three in the nation.

Overall, Georgia Tech’s Undergraduate Engineering program was ranked fourth in the country (tied with Caltech) - up one place from last year. Georgia Institute of Technology sustained its top-ten ranking among public universities, according to U.S. News, maintaining its seventh place standing among national public universities and ranking 35th for all public and private U.S. universities and colleges.

“This is indeed a reflection of the strong and sustained efforts demonstrated by the engineering chairs, faculty, staff and students,” said Larry Jacobs, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering.”We continue to strive to provide the best engineering education possible, and afford a place where today’s students are developed as tomorrow’s thinkers, leaders, and creators.”
