
The new class of Tau Beta Pi (Georgia Alpha chapter at Georgia Tech) was initiated on November 2 at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. The guest speaker was new GT Provost, Dr. Rafael Bras. Seventy-five new members were initiated this year and the chapter received a national award for having the most new members of any Tau Beta Pi chapter.
Tau Beta Pi
Tau Beta Pi is the oldest engineering honor society and the second oldest collegiate honor society in the United States. It was founded in 1885 and has expanded to 234 student chapters and has over 500,000 members. Entrance to Tau Beta Pi at Georgia Tech requires the student to be an undergraduate enrolled in an engineering program and be in the top 1/8th of their Junior class or 1/5th of their Senior class. Initiates are also required to demonstrate exemplary character.
