Georgia Institute of Technology has named 10 faculty members to an advisory committee that will help chart the course for the university's overseas partnerships. The committee includes Dr. Larry Jacobs, COE Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and several engineering faculty members. The committee was named by Provost Rafael Bras.

Coming from a range of disciplines, members of the International Advisory Group will meet once per quarter to offer input on improving and expanding Tech's global engagement, a goal laid out in the university's new strategic plan.

“Not only will this foster research collaborations and promote economic development both at home and abroad, but also will ensure Georgia Tech graduates good global citizens who are prepared to assume leadership positions with multinational institutions,” said Steve McLaughlin, vice provost for international initiatives and chair of the advisory group.

Members of the group include:

-Godfried Augenbroe, architecture

-Vicki Birchfield, international affairs, director of the European Union Center of Excellence

-Aaron Bobick, interactive computing

-John-Paul Clarke, aerospace engineering

-Andrei Fedorov, mechanical engineering

-Merrick Furst, computer science

-Larry Jacobs, College of Engineering

-Seth Marder, chemistry and biochemistry

-John McIntyre, management, director of Center for International Business Education and Research

-John Pappolymerou, electrical and computer engineering
