
Dr. Joseph Hughes, school chair and professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech has been selected as the 2011 Georgia Engineer of the Year in Education. Hughes has been recognized for his passion and devotion to his students, as well as his research in the field of environmental biotechnology. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Chemical Society, the American Association of Engineering Education, and the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors. Hughes will be honored at the Georgia Engineers Week Awards Gala later this month.
