Tech Tower

Dr. Jon Colton, a member of Georgia Tech's Mechanical Engineering faculty, received an award from Amigos for Christ, a non-governmental organization, for his work in capstone design in the area of humanitarian design and engineering.  Amigos for Christ, founded by GT alumnus John Bland, exists to serve and to inspire others to do the same.  The award honors Colton for his continued efforts to help the less fortunate people of the world.

Dr. Colton serves as Director of the Institute-wide Center for Polymer Processing and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in design and manufacturing. He is principal researcher on projects sponsored by - among others - National Science Foundation, National Institute of Standards and Technology, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Education, NATO, Ford, General Motors, General Electric, Schlumberger, U.S. Navy, and Lockheed-Martin Corp.
