Georgia Tech Mechanical Engineering student Alisha A. Kasam was recently named a Tau Beta Pi Scholar and received a cash award of $2,000 for her senior year of engineering study.

Tech's Tau Beta Pi chapter is dedicated to excellence and to the spirit of liberal culture in engineering. Early each fall and spring semester, membership is extended to outstanding students in all engineering disciplines. The top eighth of the junior class and the top fifth of the senior class are eligible for membership.  The national engineering honor society awards scholarships each year on the competitive criteria of high scholarship, campus leadership and service, and promise of future contributions to the engineering profession.  Kasam was selected for one of these prestigious honors from a pool of hundreds of qualified applicants.
