
The Technique Symposium is a 3-day event during which students with any biological research interest can attend seminars that give hands-on andin-depth training on research techniques! This includes all students (undergraduates invited!) from ALL majors, from Georgia Tech, Emory, Georgia State, and Morehouse! Please visit http://techniques.gatech.edu for more information. The Technique Symposium is organized by the Research Committee of the Bioengineering and Bioscience Unified Graduate Students (BBUGS) and will be held in the Petit Biotechnology Building.
Participants will:
1) Equip yourself with the research skills you need
2) Get trained by the experts
3) Attend seminars on a wide range of topics, conveniently located in the Bioscience quad
4) Learn effectively and efficiently in hands-on workshops and practical seminar sessions
Topics covered:
1) Lab equipment and techniques – E.g. confocal microscopy, western blotting, PCR
2) Software and analysis – E.g. IGOR, MATLAB, Systat, Endnote, Biostatistics
3) Communication – E.g. technical writing, presentations, resume writing, interviewing
