Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering (CoE) has placed fifth in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of national universities granting doctoral degrees. "Everyone in CoE should feel proud of the reputation and accomplishments of the college and the schools," said Gary S. May, Dean of Engineering.

Once again, the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) was the top ranked industrial/manufacturing program in the country. Other Tech undergraduate engineering programs rankings included:

 

 

Aerospace – 2nd  place;

Biomedical Engineering – 2nd place (up from 3rd place last year);

Civil Engineering – 3rd place;

Chemical – 9th place; 

Computer Engineering -6th place;

Electrical Engineering – 4th place (up from 5th place last year);

Environmental Engineering – 3rd place (up from 5th place last year);

Materials Science and Engineering – 6th place (up from 9th place last year); and

Mechanical Engineering – 2nd place (up from 3rd place last year).

 “This is indeed a reflection of the strong and sustained efforts demonstrated by the engineering school chairs, faculty, staff and students,” said May.

Georgia Tech, ranked 7th among public universities, has ranked in the top 10 of public universities for more than a decade. The Institute’s internships and cooperative education programs are also highlighted in “Programs to Look For”.
