Tech Tower

Dr. Tim Lieuwen, Professor in Georgia Tech's School of Aerospace Engineering, has been appointed the interim editor of the AIAA "Progress in Astronautics and Aeronautics" series, effective January 1, 2012.  This prestigious book series was founded in 1960 and is the longest and most impactful book series in the aerospace literature arena.  More than 225 volumes documenting advances in aerospace sciences and technology have been published in this series.  

At Georgia Tech, Lieuwen focuses his interests on the areas of acoustics, fluid mechanics, combustion, and signal processing. His research activities involve both theoretical and experimental work in combustion, flame-acoustic wave interactions, combustion noise, and development of ultrasonic diagnostic techniques. 

Tech's Aerospace Engineering school is also the editorial base for several journals, including Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making (Prof. Amy Pritchett, 2011-), Journal of American Helicopter Society (Prof. JVR Prasad, 2010-), JANNAF Journal of Propulsion and Energetics (2010), and AIAA Journal of Communication, Information, and Computing (2012-).
