Georgia Tech Mechanical Engineering Professors Chris Paredis and Ting Zhu were recently named Woodruff Faculty Fellows. The two faculty members were chosen from a pool of eligible Associate Professors by a selection committee consisting of five George W. Woodruff Chaired and Regents' Professors.

Paredis's research focuses on how to discover, formalize, catalogue, retrieve, and apply design knowledge in an efficient manner, resulting in accurate information in support of product lifecycle decisions. Zhu focuses his efforts on studying the modeling and simulation of mechanical behavior of materials at the nano- to macroscale.

The Woodruff Faculty Fellow supports the scholarly activities of mid-career faculty over a five year period.  Both Dr. Paredis and Dr. Zhu have made outstanding contributions to the engineering field and are well-positioned to build on their achievements.
