Jane Z. Daniels, former Program Director for Women in Sciences & Engineering at Purdue University, will be presenting the 2012 WST Distinguished Lecture entitled "Women in Science and Engineering: Policies, Practices, and Potential."  The event will be held in the Clary Auditorium of the Bill Moore Student Success Center on Thursday, March 8th at 4pm.

In her talk, Daniels will share her perception of, and involvement in, the progress that has occurred with women's integration into both engineering and sciences over the past 50 years.  Daniels will describe practices and policies that have had significant impact in women's numbers and status in both fields, and share strategies in how to continue advancement.

Daniels is a national leader in the advancement of women in science and engineering.  She is the author of over 60 articles and chapters on gender, organizational effectiveness, and science and engineering education.  In addition, she is a Fellow of The Society of Women Engineers and the Association for Women in Science.
