The family of College of Engineering Dean, Gary S. May, recently gathered to dedicate the May Family Tutoring Lounge in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons building on the campus of Georgia Tech. May (BS’EE) was joined by his wife, LeShelle (MS’OR) and daughters, Simone and Jordan. Through the generosity of Dean May and his family, the tutoring lounge is designed to enhance learning opportunities for undergraduate students at Tech.
Located in the Clough Commons, the facility is dedicated to students' academic enrichment and offers innovative learning opportunities. “It is a real pleasure for my family and me to support undergraduate education at Georgia Tech in this manner and an added bonus to do so in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, given the admiration I have for the facility’s namesake” said May.
Named in honor of former Georgia Tech President Wayne Clough, BS CE'64, MS CE'65, in recognition of his significant commitment to undergraduate education, the building offers undergraduate advising, tutoring, student success programs, and other student-centered academic services as well as hands-on, collaborative, and technologically enhanced teaching and learning opportunities. The May Family Tutoring Lounge is designed to offer services and programs that complement classroom instruction by helping students develop or enhance study skills or strategies; to become independent learners; and assist students in attaining their academic goals.
