Tech Tower

 

King, a mechanical engineering major and tennis player, is a three-time All-ACC selection and earned ITA All-American honors in 2011. King played near the top of Georgia Tech's singles line-up and ranked as high as No. 7 in the nation this past year as a senior.

The Peachtree City, Ga., native was tabbed the ACC Men's Tennis Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2012 and was a key facilitator in the Tech men's tennis program's "adoption" of a local nine-year-old boy battling cancer through the Friends of Jaclyn Program.

Hatteberg, an aerospace engineering major and swimmer, has already been accepted into the aerospace engineering master's program at Georgia Tech. She is the school record holder in three different events and qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials. Hatteberg served at the Yellow Jackets' captain in 2011-12, received the team's Tommy Towles Scholar Athlete Award and was awarded the ACC's Postgraduate Scholarship. The Louisville, Ky., native is a two-year member of Georgia Tech's Student-Athlete Advisory Board and is involved in all of the team's community service initiatives.

The awards are presented annually on each campus and recipients are selected by criteria determined by each institution.
