For the second consecutive year all of Georgia Tech’s engineering graduate programs ranked in the top ten in the nation in their respective specialties, powering the College of Engineering to a second-place ranking among public engineering institutions in the latest U.S. News & World Report graduate rankings of national universities granting doctoral degrees.

"Everyone in the College of Engineering (CoE) should feel proud of the reputation and accomplishments of the college and our schools," said Gary S. May, Dean of Engineering at Georgia Tech.  “For more than a decade Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering has been the number two public engineering college in the country and we are pleased that the 2013 rankings continue to show that.“

As in last year’s rankings, all of the College of Engineering’s  specialties were ranked in the top ten in their respective fields, making Georgia Tech the only institution in the nation with back-to-back top ten rankings for all of its engineering graduate programs.

 “We are pleased that engineering at Georgia Tech continues to be recognized for its strengths in education and research at the graduate level,” said May.  “These rankings remind us that our faculty and students excel in their fields of study and research.”

Aerospace – 4th

Electrical – 5th (tied with Cal Tech)

Environmental – 5th

Mechanical – 5th

Computer -5th

Materials Science – 9th

Chemical –10th

Nuclear – 10th

The School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) was once again named the top ranked industrial/manufacturing program in the country for the 23rd year in a row.

With computer, environmental, and mechanical engineering each rising from sixth to fifth place the CoE now has eight of its 11 programs ranked fifth or higher in the nation.
