The new QS World University Rankings by Faculty 2014 for Engineering and Technology showed Georgia Tech tied for 10th in the world. Tech was tied with Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in the rankings. The QS World University Rankings have been in existence since 2004.
Published alongside the overall QS World University Rankings, the QS World University Rankings by Faculty uses four performance indicators to rank the world’s top 400 universities in five faculty areas: arts & humanities, engineering & technology, life sciences & medicine, natural sciences, and social sciences & management. The QS World University Rankings by Faculty is designed to highlight universities’ strengths in broad faculty areas. These rankings employ a different methodology to that used for the overall QS World University Rankings, drawing on major global surveys of academics and employers, as well as research citations data.
