Krista Walton, an associate professor in the School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, has been named a 2015 Rising Star by the American Chemical Society Women Chemists Committee (ACS WCC).

The WCC Rising Star award recognizes 10 female scientists “who have demonstrated outstanding promise for contributions to their respective fields.” Walton will be honored at an awards symposium on March 23, 2015, as part of the ACS 249th National Meeting in Denver.

“This award is a well-deserved recognition of Krista’s accomplishments,” said David Sholl, ChBE chair. “As the director of a [U.S. Department of Energy] Energy Frontier Research Center at Georgia Tech and as an editor for the ACS journal Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Research, Krista is widely recognized for her work on adsorption, materials and chemical separations.”
